It's DONE!!!!!

Happy to be back :)

This past several, several weeks have been such a project....replacing carpet with wood floors throughout the entire house was such a a major undertaking!!!  Not only that. but we did an upgrade in our kitchen....
I will spare you my pain and just tell you it is complete, we love it and life moves forward....
If you ever decide to do such a project - let me know I will help you keep your sanity :)

My original plan - do my sewing room first, get it back in place and I would hide in there during the remaining weeks of turmoil!  It didn't work....my sewing room was the last to be put back together and that's all I will say about that!!!!

A week ago I decided I just had to sew - I had a great little book form Temecula Quilt Co  "T is for Tiny".....so I found a box with scraps and just started sewing!!!

This was my selection....8" x 9 1/2"

I selected a different background and finished it this morning!

Love it!!!

.

I got this great little display stand at Temecula Quilt Co as well....

This little piece will always be special - it was little bit of sanity during the last several week....
So life is good and things are back to "normal" whatever that is ha ha ha....I do know I have several projects lined up to get finished!!!!

Hope you are having a great summer and doing all you want to do!  I am now ready for a little calm and nothing much on our plate!!!

Remember SMILE always and please, please share a hug!!!

Can I make it?

Happy June -

Yes, it has been a while....

For all of you that have done a remodel in your home - you might have a big SMILE for me and be quick to tell me - "this too shall pass"

Our project started three weeks ago and came to an immediate halt!  All justified.... The delay started about 2 hours into the initial project and by then the bathroom floor had been removed and we had moved as much as possible from the bedrooms...utter chaos so I thought :)

I set up a sewing space in the kitchen and got these 5, plus 2 more squares completed.  This is the TQC summer project....4" blocks....I was enjoying a new sewing spot and really thinking all would go well....
A week later we started again...

This is the picture I saw for the next 5 days - all floors are being replaced with hard wood - even the stairs. All carpet has left the building!  Kitchen is getting new counter tops and I am now wondering what did we do!!!!
So.... feeling a little overwhelmed I got a new planner.  This is a July to June edition.

Love, love it!!!
This one is all about setting actions for the week, planning projects and getting things accomplished!
With all the changes (wonderful changes) I want to be sure that I get back on track and get things accomplished! I feel so much better when I have a plan....
I do love being organized....

So...not sure when I will be back but it wont be long....I will be busy gathering the tons of dust around here :)

Until next time -

Remember - SMILE always and please share many hugs to those that need a little sunshine...

A finish....

Remember my squares from last week???

Certainly not a favorite but a finish!!!!

I have been purging our house to get ready for wood flooring to be put down - what a project!!! Everything must be moved so why not do a good job of letting go of what you think you need and only keeping what you really need!!!! Well maybe a few things I just cant part with!!

My sewing room was my project from yesterday - oh my gosh!!!!!  I'm sure that all I let go will never be missed 1 ha ha ha.............
Today I am all tidy and loving the freedom from all I had that I never needed....  no picture....

I will be back soon...until then more rooms to tackle :)

Remember - SMILE always  and share your hugs...  its the best feeling!

Share day....

I thought I would share what I have been up to these past few weeks... besides having a sleepover with our Munchkins, having  a "girls day" with my little Emma and getting ready to do a major remodel in our home....:)

Completed and quilted by my dear friend Colleen...Love this vintage look...binding is ready to be put on and then a good wash to make it even softer and older looking....
Another 'mini' completed - still need to quilt this one!
my APQ 4-patch project.  Just 6 rows left to sew together and then the sections put together...this will be completed early next week. and off to Colleen :)..this quilt has about 408 4 patch blocks and about the same number of solid squares...all are 2.5 inches....
Took my "Smores" by Jo Morton off the shelf.  I'm ready to get this one finished!!!
Last but best of all - Cooper flipped his first pancake when we made breakfast Sunday morning after our sleepover - these are the best times!!!

Please let me wish all moms and grandmoms the best ever Mothers Day.... enjoy the day with those you love and let them love you!!!

Remember - SMILE always and yup!!! give tons of hugs....

Should be fun...

Good morning,  I hope all of you had a beautiful Easter - we sure did!!!

A few months ago I got a new and exciting addition to my quilting world,  I had no room for a longarm but I really wanted to try free motion quilting. I wanted the ability to do small pieces myself.  I tried to say I didn't need it but desire won!!!!!  I have a great husband and he went with me and cheered me on )  Lucky to have him....

My Sweet Sixteen - trust me - it was a very tough learning curve.  There were days I wondered what I would do if I never "got it"...I had to work on my "muscle memory"...but guess what I  mastered it and I lover it!!!

So, I need small pieces to quilt and practice on so I am starting a collection of small quilts that I have wanted to do for some time. Now I can make them and quilt them myself.  I good place to practice :)

A few I have selected to make....small, easy and quick....
This on is from the current Quilt Mania - Sawtooth Nine Patch
This is from the book Lizzie's Legacy - Selling Butter
Lori Smith's - Quaint Little Quilts #3

I have my APQ 4 patch project far enough along to entertain a new project.  I also have another small project far enough along that I'm not feeling guilty :)

However - this will slow be down getting started  :)
Yup - the mandolin won Easter morning - please...always use the guard!!!!!...... two weeks in this thing in hopes my finger and nail will grow back....:(

Hope you are sewing and enjoying spring wherever you are....I love this time of year!!!

Remember SMILE always and please give an extra hug today :)
